An exciting weekend was had at Thruxton Racecourse by A7 Commodities sponsored driver Charles Clark.
Friday May 7th kicked off Rounds 1 & 2 of 2021’s Porsche Sprint Series GB at Thruxton circuit. With 2020’s series curtailed by Covid, Charles was just itching to get the racing underway. A winter spent fine tuning both car and driver it was fantastic to finally get out and show what he could do.
Practice sessions on the Friday went incredibly well with some extremely fast lap times and Charles really felt he could show some of the more experienced drivers what he is capable of.
Round 1 saw an amazing race for Charles who followed up on his superb practice sessions with a brilliant podium finish in third. Congratulated by an ecstatic team and extremely proud Dad, Charles couldn’t wait to get back out for Round 2 the following day.
Sunday’s Round 2 proved to be just as exhilarating. Shown live on TV by the boadcaster ITV, the race really came alive in the 10th round when Charles, having just completed the fastest lap time, spun off at 130mph after a problem with the traction control on the car. He was understandably devastated, however Charles soon put it behind him to concentrate on finding out what the issue was, get it fixed and go again in Round 3 on 22nd May at Brands Hatch.
Suffice to say a really promising start to the series and again A7 Commodities are so proud to be part of the journey.
